Conference Offerings

Looking for a keynote or workshop presenter for your conference?  Transition Magician conference offerings include keynote presentations, 1-2 hour workshops or a combination of a keynote followed by a workshop. 

The keynote offers an interactive presentation of key Transition Magician techniques and practical activity ideas and props to make transitions fun and engaging.  A conference workshop provides participants with additional ideas for their take home "bag of tricks."

Workshop/In-Service Offerings

Become a Transition Magician! Invite one of the authors of these excellent books to present a half day or full day session for your program.  Each attendee is guaranteed to leave energized, with at least 20 new transition ideas!

Workshop components include:

  • Evaluation Tools
    Participants will examine their classroom schedule, environment, transitions and their teaching practices, using a variety of evaluation tools.
  • Techniques
    Transition strategies and techniques that help teachers to anticipate problems, act in a positive manner and avert problems (our "Triple A Approach") while guiding young children will be explored.
  • Tangibles
    Transition props will be shared, along with creative ideas to settle children, help them move from one activity to another, and use time productively. Participants will take a "bag of tricks" back to their classroom to make transitions a positive experience for everyone.

Choices

Choose from a full day, half day, conference workshop sessions or keynote presentation. Each are designed to meet your program's needs. Select the basic TM workshop (for audiences that are not familiar with the Transition Magician format), or choose the basic workshop or keynote with an emphasis on working with children with challenging behaviors. If your staff is interested in sharing transition strategies and activities with parents for their use at home, try the TM for Families workshop. A make and take activity can be built into any workshop. All of these presentations are interactive and include lots of ideas that staff can use Monday morning.
